Pouty Girl
More practicing with Painter... this whole thing was done with the Tapered Artist Chalk. I thought I'd try to do something using reference. I'm not sure what I think about how this turned out, but I finally had to make myself stop fussing with it.
A few things I'm learning about Painter - I LOVE the resize the brush on the fly deal. Hit cntl + alt (I don't know what it is for mac), and drag your cursor to resize your brush. Best thing ever. Also love the rotating canvas. Very cool.
Bad things about painter - I've tried and failed to like their method of transforming selections. Drives me crazy.
Overall, I'm really enjoying using Painter. I'm finally getting used to their brushes and not feeling quite so overwhelmed by all the options.

Watch it Maryn! If I didn't know any better... I'd say you're starting to like this here Painter program... ;)
Maryn, this one is just amazing! I'm glad you're taking to Painter. I hear that Photoshop CS3 will allow you to 'turn the paper' like Painter does. I'm looking forward to that release. I'd like to see Painter act more like PS in some aspects too. You've seem to over come limitations in both.
Hi! I'm a friend of Nate. This is really good! I like how smooth it looks from a distance and the texture you see when you get close to it.
